Composite Fillings

Composite resin, also known as filled resin, consists of either a glass filler or quartz. This filling is favored far and wide as it is customizable to the point that its hue can actually match that of the rest of the teeth in your mouth. Furthermore, composite fillings are favored as they last longer than fillings of other varieties. Whether you need a small restoration or a medium-size restoration of your teeth, your composite fillings will look amazing and make it that much easier to chew through food in full confidence without pain. If you have a cavity or suspect you might have dental decay, reach out to us today at (951) 214-6585 to schedule an appointment at our office.

The composite filling process is nothing to fear. The dentist starts out by numbing the gums, teeth and area where the filling will be placed. The decayed portion of the tooth is removed with a drill. The drilling process will likely take a few minutes at most so don’t worry about potential pain. The tooth is then restored with a composite filling. The filling is positioned in the tooth in several layers. These layers are gradually established, ensuring they fill the entirety of the hole where the cavity was. The filling will then be cured in place with an ultraviolet light that hardens each layer for a natural look and full restoration.
